
Commercial Pilot License
Prerequisite: Private Pilot Licence
Applicant must have a Category 1 aviation medical from a Transport Canada approved medical examiner.
Knowledge
The Applicant must have a minimum of 80 hours of ground school. You are also required to pass a Transport Canada written examination to 60%. The exam is divided into four separate categories and you must achieve at least 60% in each category.
You must also pass a flight test with a Designated Flight Test Examiner.
Experience
Applicant requires 200 hours of total flight time of which 100 is pilot in command and includes 20 hours of cross-country time.
For a commercial pilots licence you require a minimum of 200 hours of total flight time of which at least 100 must be pilot in command to included 20 hours of cross-country time, 35 hours of dual training to include:
- 8 hours of advanced dual which includes 5 hours of dual cross-country;
- 5 hours of dual night to include 2 hours of dual night cross country and,
- 20 hours of dual instrument time.
30 Hours of Solo Time to include:
- 5 hours of solo night;
- 25 hours of solo flight time including one cross-country of no less than 300 nautical miles from the home base to include at least two extra stops along the way.
