
Private Pilot Training
Knowledge
Applicants must have a minimum of 40 hours of Ground School and pass a written examination at Transport Canada with a minimum of 60%.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of 45 hours flying time as follows:
17 hours dual flying time to include:
- 3 hours dual cross-country
- 5 hours instrument flying
12 hours solo flying time to include:
- 5 hours solo cross-country
In addition, during the course of your training you have to complete four block quizzes a pre-solo examination and a sample final exam prior to attempting the Transport Canada Exam.
- Each applicant must hold a Private Pilot Category 3 Medical or higher, conducted by a Transport Canada approved Medical Examiner.
- Applicants must also pass a flight test with a Designated Flight Test Examiner.

Note
* Must be minimum 16 years old to fly solo.
* Must be minimum 17 years old to hold a Private Pilot Licence.
